Webinar on Integrated River Basin Management

AguaJaring is pleased to announce that there will be a free webinar on integrated river basin management (IRBM) organised by AguaJaring and supported by Cap-Net UNDP, with the objective to share the basic principles on the concept of IRBM and the long term sustainability for the water sector towards better understanding and appreciation of management of land and water by natural geographical border regardless of administrative boundary.

Speakers
Ir. Ts. Noor Aishah bt Zaharin is a Senior Engineer at River Basin Management Division, Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia, Ministry of Environment and Water. She holds a B. Eng. in Civil Engineering (Civil) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a Masters' Degree in Civil Engineering, majoring in Construction Management from The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. She is the elected member of Water Resources Technical Division, Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) with over 15 years of experience in river management as well as flood management and forecasting programs. She is also the Honorary Secretary of Malaysian Water Partnership (MyWP). She is also registered as an Asean Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Mrs. Haslina Binti Amer is the Head of River Basin and Coastal Management Division in Selangor Waters Management Authority (SWMA/LUAS). She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Science Malaysia. She obtained Diploma in Integrated Environment and Water Management from Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI), Denmark and a Diploma in River Basin Management from CEDDET Foundation, Spain with collaboration program of Network of Asian River Basin Organization (NARBO). She also obtained Certificate on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Training from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Certificate on Integrated Coastal Management Training from Coastal and Ocean Management Institute, COMI in Xiamen, China. She has more than 20 years experiences involvement in water resources management and is among the nucleus staff since the establishment of Selangor Waters Management Authority in 2000. Her work experience covers water resources management and conservation within the river basin and coastal management in Selangor. She was also a coordinator for Selangor Component in 'Integrated River Basin Management Project' which was a collaboration program of the Government of Malaysia and Denmark (2002-2007). She was also responsible for the implementation of the IRBM Plan, development of Integrated Water Resources Information System (IWRIMS) and LUAS Intelligent Support System (LiSS), regulating and monitoring overall development in basin level that includes water resource pollution issues management, and the Secretariat for Selangor Water Resources Pollution Emergency Committee.
