The Siam Water Network

The Siam Water Network (SWN), Thailand, was established on March 18, 2013 to replace the Thai Water CapNet, which was founded on July 14, 2010. The SWN is a non-profit organization. The objectives of SWN are to (1) develop cooperation share knowledge on water resources among the network members, (2) seek and develop management measures and support water resources education to Thai society, and (3) strengthen the collaborations on water resources management and water-related activities among the international water networks worldwide.

The SWN is currently chaired by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University. A new chairman is elected every 4 years and the highest votes will be selected from the steering committee members. The SWN steering committees are now composed of the representatives from various fields of expertise and organizations as follows:

  4. Department of Marine and Coastal Resources
  5. Department of Mineral Resources
  6. Department of Water Resources

  11. Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand
